Noted author John Updike believes "perfectionism is the enemy of creation." He understood the need to be perfect stops the forward march of any creative undertaking. In my considered opinion, there is nothing useful about striving for "perfection." Carried to extremes, it's toxic as well as paralyzing. Maybe it's about working to be the best you can be -- a work in progress. There is no perfect - only a better you. "And who is to judge what is 'perfect' anyway? What I have judged full of flaws so many others have called terrific. Maybe the definition of Perfection is something that actually gets done." - - Neale Donald Walsch
